Pick up one by Debra Ollivier or Julia Child's 'My Life in France.' Instead of exploring the mystique of French women and the secrets to their confidence and flair, it goes on incessantly about waxing, matching underwear, dieting, and how thin (elite) French women are. However, once things got going, I just felt like I was reading the diary of an insanely insecure woman living in France. If you want to explore France and the spirit of the women there, steer clear of this book. The book opens so energetically. The first few pages invite me into a world of self-discovery and fun. I've been to France and I felt that her obsessing over the "perfectness" of French women was over-the-top, and all it left me was feeling like I was reading a Cosmo article or some other trashy women's magazine.

Overall, it was a fun read that I'd recommend to anyone, along with What French Women Know: About Love, Sex, and Other Matters of the Heart and Mind. So much great info on how to be french, too. Great, great book. It's one of those that you just want to consume. I really used the material inside to tweat my dating game just a bit.

Some books like this can be stupid or boring but i enjoyed and glad to added it to my library. She agreed with some of things in the book. I couldn't put the book down for the past 3 days. I showed a co worker of mine who has visted france. But even so , it was a fun book.

I have read it, passed it on, and bought it for gifts. This is an easy read but makes some major and unique points that apply to every woman. Fun to waltz through.

But this book pulls me right back into all the funny, stunning little secrets every women NEEDS. I felt so distant from anything merely related to style. I love this book. I lived in Europe many years and moved to the Caribbean last year. This is not a "want", this is a "need".
